Linux HPC/DevOps Engineer

Contract

We are seeking a Linux HPC/DevOps Engineer to join a cutting-edge Data Analysis Platform (DAP) team supporting global research and development efforts. You will manage and maintain High Performance Computing (HPC) clusters, oversee Bioinformatics tools, and provide support to data scientists by delivering robust and secure computing environments.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage and maintain Linux HPC clusters, including GPU capabilities.
• Install and manage application containers for tools like RStudio, JupyterLab/Hub, and complex data analysis pipelines.
• Ensure platform stability, performance, and security.
• Document configurations and provide user guides for peers and scientists.
• Provide expert support to global data scientists on computational tools and systems.

Required Skills:

• Linux OS: Strong knowledge of Linux systems (preferably Red Hat OS 8+).
• Software Management: Experience in installing/compiling software (e.g., gcc, make).
• Coding Environments: Familiarity with Python and R tools (pip, CRAN).
• Automation: Experience with Puppet, Terraform, or Ansible.
• CI/CD: Proficiency in tools like Atlassian Bitbucket and Bamboo.
• Coding: Skilled in Python and Bash (Perl and R are a plus).
• Networking: Solid understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, LDAP, and DHCP.
• Experience in HPC, Kubernetes (on-premise/cloud),familiarity with VMWARE and bare-metal servers, exposure to AWS Cloud are a plus.
