Key Responsibilities

• Design a systematic approach to onboard GCP services and components that includes architecture design and cybersecurity baselines.
• Ensure that architectural decisions are in-line with best practices and strategic direction.
• Build and publish a list of onboarded GCP services along with relevant documentation, guidelines, typical use scenarios, patterns and architecture designs.
• Collaborate with engineering, operations, and application teams to implement the cloud platform design.
• Support developing and maintaining the company's cloud architecture standards and guidelines.
• Review and approve cloud architecture designs.
• Identify and mitigate public cloud risks.
• Stay up-to-date on the latest cloud technologies and trends.
• Mentor and train other cloud architects and engineers
• Provide guidance to application teams for building, running, and maintaining their solutions on GCP.
• Participate in the assessment and architecture design of applications that will be migrated to or born on GCP.
• Create security and infrastructure engineering design packages to be reviewed by Public Cloud cybersecurity teams on the Client side.

Required Experience:

• Extensive experience (5+ years preferred) in cloud platform engineering with a strong focus on Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
• Proven experience in designing and implementing cloud architectures, including infrastructure as code (IaC) using tools such as Terraform or Cloud Deployment Manager.
• Deep understanding of GCP services and components, including compute, storage, networking, security, and data analytics.
• Solid understanding of cybersecurity best practices in the cloud, including identity and access management (IAM), network security, data encryption, and vulnerability management.
• Experience in developing and maintaining cloud architecture standards and guidelines.
• Experience in collaborating with cross-functional teams, including engineering, operations, and application development.
• Experience in mentoring and training other engineers.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Experience in creating technical documentation and presentations.
• Experience with application migration to cloud environments.
• Experience creating security and infrastructure engineering design packages for security review.
