Job Title: IT Enterprise Network Manager

Job Purpose:
The purpose of this role is to manage the Enterprise Network environment and solutions. This role will work with the other infrastructure service area leads, business unit representatives and the IT operational teams to ensure the server, storage and network are designed and implemented to provide the appropriate levels of capacity, redundancy, failover protection, and where appropriate monitoring and security. This role will be a key problem solver and provide inputs and guidance, as necessary, related to Enterprise Network solutions to the business unit leadership.

Roles and Responsibilities:

Manages internal teams, providers and other delivery partners for delivery of the services, in the Enterprise Network area, which includes design, deployment, change and update authorization, validation of performance, service delivery management, etc.

Develop and implement long-term network strategies aligned with business goals. This should include redundancy and failover strategies for core and tertiary network layers.

Plan and manage the budget for network infrastructure, ensuring cost-effective solutions. By proposing right sized technology as a standard for the group.

Provide technical guidance and leadership to suppliers, network engineers and other IT staff.

Define network architecture standards, protocols, and best practices.

Oversee the design, deployment, and maintenance of network infrastructure, including LAN, WAN, wireless, and data center networks.

Ensure network architecture supports current and future business needs. Including ISP, local network, cloud integrations, VPN, connectivity with service providers.

Oversee the deployment and integration of network systems and components.

Ensure that network installations and upgrades are performed with minimal disruption to business operations.

Performs advanced network administration activities, by working with the external service provider, on; high availability, automated installation, configuration & monitoring, space management, capacity planning, database backup and recovery, and disaster recovery setup

Research and evaluate new networking technologies and solutions. Recommend and implement innovative technologies that enhance network capabilities and efficiency.

Provides critical inputs to the Enterprise Network services plans and roadmap for the organisation, and executes the plans by working with external service provider(s)

Establishes standards for network, local area, wide area and Internet infrastructure and ensures their performance across all system design, development and maintenance activities

Maintains and updates technical documents and procedures

Develops service delivery best-practices for the organisation’s Enterprise Network services
Be able to oversee and troubleshoot complex network issues and provide solutions to prevent recurrence.

Conduct root cause analysis to identify and resolve underlying network problems.
Establishes standards and ensures exceptional delivery and high availability of technology voice and data infrastructure services, including but not limited to WAN, LAN, IP Telephony, cloud and monitoring services

Functional Roles and Responsibilities:

Proactively manages the Provider to ensure that the service delivery meets the expected quality, budget and timelines. Proactively aligns the resources.

Monitors, supports and maintains the organisation’s Enterprise Network infrastructure

Reviews performance of the respective Infrastructure service areas and makes recommendations for improvements while supporting audits as and when required

Drives or participates in relevant outage reviews and ensure follow-ups for all actions as it relates to Network

Serves as a consultant on data and database-related technological advancements and determines standards for server/database configuration

Supports the problem, defect, and incident management processes for seamless operations of Infrastructure platforms

Experience is managing remote, hybrid and direct team for best performance, coverage and uptime of the network service to business.

Support, deployment and housekeeping.

Works with various Business Units to improve Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity planning and investments to ensure protection of key Enterprise Compute requirements

Ensures currency of documentation for services, changes, user guides and training documentation

Supports in implementation of cloud transformation and service delivery model and provides effective and efficient services as required by the Cloud Service Delivery model i.e. PaaS, IaaS

Monitors the consumption of cloud services as per the delivery model

People Management Roles and Responsibilities:

Guide, train and motivate subordinates to enhance performance and produce quality work, and ensure that they are continuously developed for higher level roles

Job Requirements:

Graduate or post graduate in Computer Science or equivalent from a recognized university

Accredited Network credentials/certifications; Preferred candidate with any industry certifications, like Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) or Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert (CCIE), Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), VMware Certified Professional (VCP) for network virtualization, AWS Certified Advanced Networking, Microsoft Certified: Azure Network Engineer

Years of Experience

• 10-15 years of experience in similar roles managing network/security infrastructure, with minimum 8 years of managerial experience

Knowledge and Skills:

Candidate must have strong networking background with core network design, architecture knowledge and experience.

Must be knowledgeable on all network domain (LAN,WAN,MAN,SAN,WLAN). In depth knowledge of protocols OSPF, BGP, EIGRP and respective configuration on technologies like Cisco and Juniper. Hands-On with software defined network (SDN) controller and virtualization, ability to lead deployment team, configurations.

Handson and deployment experience of cloud networking with AWS (Direct connect), Microsoft Azure (Express Route) etc is mandatory. Knowledge and experience of Network automation tools including ansible, Puppet ) is key.

Operational knowledge network KPIs, QoS and operational uptime management.
