Job Title:Google Cloud Specialist - Financial Operations

This role requires a technically proficient Cloud FinOps Specialist to optimize cloud expenditure, maximizing business value from cloud/digital and robotics offerings. This involves collaboration between technology, finance, and business units, using data-driven insights for financial efficiency, profitability, and strategic decisions, focusing on Google Cloud Platform (GCP).

Core Responsibilities:

• Cloud Financial Management & Analysis: Analyze cloud usage and spending using GCP tools (Cloud Billing, Cloud Cost Management, BigQuery, Looker Studio) to identify cost-saving opportunities through rightsizing, reserved instances, etc.
  • Technical Skills: GCP Cloud Billing, Cloud Cost Management, BigQuery (SQL proficiency), Data Visualization (Looker Studio).
• Pricing & Cost Estimation: Collaborate on accurate pricing models and cost estimations, understanding GCP pricing (pay-as-you-go, committed use discounts, spot VMs) and using the GCP Pricing Calculator.
  • Technical Skills: GCP Pricing Models, GCP Pricing Calculator.
• Financial Reporting & Forecasting: Generate reports and dashboards, developing financial forecasts and budgets aligned with business goals.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration & Technical Liaison: Bridge finance and technical teams, translating technical information into financial terms.
  • Technical Skills: Cloud Architecture & Infrastructure understanding.
• Cost Optimization Strategy & Implementation: Develop and implement cost optimization strategies using GCP best practices and FinOps principles, including technical optimizations (auto-scaling, serverless), process improvements (tagging, chargeback), and governance.
  • Technical Skills: GCP Services & Optimization (Compute Engine, Cloud Storage, Cloud Functions), Cost Allocation Tagging & Chargeback.
• Customer Consumption Analysis: Analyze customer cloud usage for optimization and cost savings.
  • Technical Skills: Cloud Usage Analysis.
• Continuous Improvement: Stay updated on cloud financial management, FinOps, and GCP services.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in MIS, IT Management, Computer Science, or related technical field.
• Strong understanding of cloud pricing (GCP), cost optimization, and FinOps.
• Expertise in financial analysis and accounting in the tech industry.
• 5+ years in financial operations, preferably in a technology/cloud services company, focused on cloud cost management.
• Hands-on experience with GCP billing and cost management tools (Cloud Billing, Cloud Cost Management, BigQuery, Looker Studio). Strong SQL skills are highly desirable.
• Excellent communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences.
• Proficiency in financial modeling and forecasting.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Experience with data analysis and visualization tools (SQL, Python/R, Looker Studio, Tableau).
• FinOps Certified Practitioner (FOCP) is a strong plus. Experience with other cloud providers' cost management tools is beneficial.
