Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic leader to join our team as the Director of Technical Operations. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing the infrastructure supporting our business, including DevOps, IT, networking, and tier-1 support for both B2C and B2B operations. You will be a change agent driving transformation, implementing best practices, and leading a team to ensure optimal performance and scalability of our technology infrastructure in a fast-paced and evolving environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a thought leader within the engineering organization, promoting and implementing best practices across technical operations.
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships across cross-functional teams to facilitate effective collaboration.
  • Develop, implement, and continuously improve tools and processes to ensure new and existing products/services are adequately supported.
  • Provide regular reports on the "Health of Technical Operations" to upper management.
  • Lead, mentor, and guide the technical operations team, fostering a proactive and collaborative mentality.
  • Collaborate with engineering managers and development teams to ensure the successful delivery of high-quality features.
  • Ensure the team is cross-trained and capable of delivering 24/7 support to meet business needs.
  • Proactively identify opportunities for optimization and process improvement within technical operations.
  • Monitor infrastructure costs, propose action plans to optimize resource usage, and communicate cost management strategies to upper management.
  • Plan for the scalable growth of the platform, ensuring that infrastructure can handle twice the maximum current workload without intervention.
  • Manage relationships with third-party service providers, ensuring accountability, performance, and value for money.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in managing a technical operations team, with a focus on DevOps management and team growth.
  • Proven track record of using tools like Jira and working in a sprint-based environment.
  • Strong ability to manage multiple high-priority initiatives simultaneously while maintaining high quality.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Experience with cloud hosting environments (preferably GCP) and deployment automation tools like Jenkins.
