Chief Operating Officer

A leading manufacturing company in the Gulf region is seeking an experienced and operationally astute Chief Operating Officer (COO) to lead their state-of-the-art facility, strategically located near a major industrial hub. This mission-critical hire will ensure the facility’s operational readiness ahead of its scheduled launch in June 2025 and drive the company’s ambitious growth trajectory.

The Business
Specializing in producing high-quality components through advanced casting, forging, and machining processes, the company is a key supplier to sectors such as energy, infrastructure, and manufacturing. Poised for significant growth, the business aims to scale operations while maintaining exceptional quality standards and contributing to the region’s industrial development goals.

Key Responsibilities
The COO will report directly to the CEO and be tasked with:

Operational Readiness

• Overseeing final preparations to ensure the facility is fully operational by June 2025.
• Identifying and addressing any gaps in processes, systems, or infrastructure to guarantee a seamless launch.

Strategic Planning

• Collaborating with the commercial team to align production planning with market demand.
• Defining product priorities and establishing best practices for managing a customized operation that optimizes customer satisfaction and operational efficiency.

Execution and Delivery

• Ensuring the facility consistently achieves on-time delivery of manufactured products.
• Embedding operational excellence and continuous improvement across all production processes.

Team Leadership

• Leading 200+ employees across Planning, Supply Chain, Technical & Engineering, and overseeing EHSQ (Environment, Health, Safety, and Quality) to ensure high performance and alignment with best practices.
• Supporting and collaborating with the Production Director, currently seconded from the company’s technical partner, to ensure effective knowledge transfer and alignment with operational objectives.

Scalability

• Building scalable systems and processes to support the company’s growth to 350 employees by 2025 and 670 employees by 2030.

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate will have:

• Proven leadership experience in large-scale manufacturing operations, particularly in casting, forging, or similar industries.
• Expertise in preparing facilities for operational readiness, including infrastructure and process implementation.
• Strong planning and supply chain management skills with the ability to align operations with market demands.
• A track record of ensuring on-time delivery and driving operational transformation in high-growth environments.
• Experience managing cross-functional teams and fostering collaboration across technical, engineering, and EHSQ functions.
• A hands-on leadership style and the ability to thrive in an early-stage, high-growth business environment.
