Our Client:

Our client, a leader in sustainable development are seeking an Associate Director of Growth to join their team in Abu Dhabi, UAE.

This person will lead the expansion of the business, contributing to the execution of business strategy on a global scale, in line with the organisation's overall vision and strategic objectives.

This person will develop and lead the execution of the commercial real estate business development strategy including the development and execution of B2B lead generation strategies, commercia sales and leasing strategies and economic cluster development strategies.

Also, this person will lead the refinement and execution of a corporate marketing and communications strategy, business development strategy in line with the overall company vision and provide direction for the marketing and corporate communication function in support of the overall corporate strategy and line with shareholder directives.

Your Responsibilities:
  • Contribute to business strategy in line with the organisation's vision, mission, and overall strategy
  • Ensure that the strategy is translated into annual operational business plans and KPIs for Growth and that performance is monitored and reported so that any necessary actions are taken in a timely manner.
  • Manage staff and teams by overseeing performance management, recruitment, training, and development to ensure high engagement and competence levels and a motivated work environment
  • Ensure appropriate succession plans are in place for key positions within the team
  • Contribute to change management through your team by providing input for and participating in change initiatives, programs, and projects, considering international leading practices, changes in international standards, and changes in the business environment that demand proactive action plans
  • Lead strategies for attracting companies to the brand, which will help meet the overall business development and leasing strategy and objectives
  • Liaise with the wider stakeholder landscape of Abu Dhabi government and semi-government entities promoting economic development in Abu Dhabi
  • Provide direction for business development, marketing and corporate communication for the organisation in the areas of strategic commercial real estate, leasing, JVs, Build to Suite developments, communications, brand positioning, public relations, content development, media relations, internal communications, digital communications, campaign development events, and sponsorships in support of the overall corporate strategy and in line with shareholders requirements.
  • Ensure strict monitoring of the organisation's operational carbon footprint, energy demand, residential water demand, waste management, and other sustainability metrics and oversee/facilitate continual improvement efforts
  • Ensure that development provides quality of life for tenants and has the lowest possible environmental footprint
  • Manage external consultants and partners to execute all relevant activities that require external support effectively
  • Maximize value for the organisation by minimizing external costs and enabling knowledge transfer
  • Continually engage and exchange knowledge/views in the industry to maintain an up to-date view of the market.
  • As and when required by the CEO, personally manage key relationships/negotiations with relevant internal and external stakeholders at senior levels to ensure the negotiation and agreement of favorable deals and agreements that safeguard the companys best interests while ensuring the delivery of necessary needs/goals
  • Represent all aspects of Growth within senior management discussions at strategic and operational levels.
  • Establish a knowledge management system for city development to leverage and integrate other business unit knowledge and expertise and ultimately extract synergies and commercial value
  • Propose and develop future commercial ventures based on know-how, IP, and brand through partnership where applicable at the company scale.
  • Oversee the continuous improvement and implementation of related systems, policies, and procedures covering all areas of the department’s activity so that all relevant procedural/ legislative requirements and standards are fulfilled while ensuring that policies and procedures support the delivery of the business strategy
  • Recommend the departmental budget and monitor financial performance versus the budget so that the business is aware of anticipated costs/ revenues, areas of unsatisfactory performance are identified, and potential areas of cost reduction or performance improvement opportunities are capitalized upon
  • Ensure that all relevant unit reports are completed comprehensively, accurately, and timely and comply with international corporate governance principles, standards, and shareholder requirements
  • Present regular and ad-hoc management reports as and when required by the CEO
  • Adhere to any applicable company information security policies and procedures and identify and report security incidents and suspected weaknesses to the appropriate point(s) of contact
Your Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s in business administration, Economics, or a related discipline
  • Master’s degree in a relevant discipline or MBA Preferred
  • At least 12 years of experience in business development and strategic partnerships for major, integrated, and mixed-use real estate projects and a proven track record in the management of large cross functional teams
  • Successful track record in business development and senior stakeholder management
  • Significant experience in the UAE, gaining strong knowledge and understanding of local rules, regulations, systems, and real estate development and investment processes.
  • Strong knowledge of business development and marketing
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills and ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced, diverse environment
  • Proven ability to initiate, manage, and prioritize multiple ongoing projects
  • Proven stakeholder management skills, including working directly with senior decision-makers and government agencies
  • Ability to persuade and influence decision-makers to implement enhancement initiatives
  • Strong understanding and knowledge of relevant UAE regulations, processes, and systems, e.g., GIS
