Overall Job Description
We are looking for a skilled Unix Team Leader to manage our Unix/Linux operations with a focus 
on Red Hat environments. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in automation, 
incident management, and team leadership. You will be responsible for guiding a team of Unix 
administrators, ensuring system reliability, and implementing best practices in automation, ITIL
and Agile methodologies.
Professional skills
Proficiency in Unix/Linux operating systems (mainly Red Hat).
Strong knowledge of shell scripting (mainly Python, Bash and Perl are a plus).
Strong knowledge of CI/CD tools (mainly Gitlab).
Experience with configuration management tools (e.g., Ansible, Jenkins).
Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure) is a plus.
Understanding of networking concepts and protocols (e.g., TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP).
Experience with virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware).
Knowledge of storage systems and backup solutions.
Experience with monitoring tools (e.g., Nagios, Dynatrace, Prometheus).
Know how to work in agile Team (Scrum or Kanban)
Experience with enterprise environment (CAB meetings, ITSM tools, customer management, 
etc).

Technical Knowledge and certifications
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in Unix/Linux system administration.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to motivate and lead a diverse technical team.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making capabilities.
- 5+ years of experience in Unix/Linux team management/leadership, specifically with Red 
Hat ecosystem.
- Proven experience with Ansible, Red Hat Satellite, and GIT.
- Strong background in automation.
- Strong background in incident/change management.
- Proficient in scripting languages (e.g., Bash, Python).
- Familiarity with monitoring tools and performance optimization.
- Solid understanding of networking, security principles, and cloud environments.
- Experience working in agile environments and understanding of agile practices.
- Nice to have: Experience with containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
Activities (proactive and reactive)
Team Leadership:
- Lead and mentor a team of Unix administrators, fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment.
- Manage team performance through regular evaluations and constructive feedback.
- Promote a culture of continuous improvement and professional development.
 - Collaboration: Work with development/ architecture and operations teams to support 
application deployments and infrastructure improvements.
System Administration:
- Oversee the management and maintenance of Red Hat Enterprise Linux systems.
- Ensure system security, performance, and availability through best practices.
 - Compliance: Ensure systems comply with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
Automation & Configuration Management:
- Work with automation tools, particularly Ansible, to optimize operations.
- Utilize Red Hat Satellite for system provisioning, patch management, and configuration 
management.
- Manage version control and collaboration using GIT for configuration changes and scripts.
Incident Management:
- Lead incident response efforts, ensuring prompt resolution of technical issues.
- Conduct root cause analysis of incidents and implement preventative measures.
Reporting:
- Generate regular reports on system performance, incidents, and team activities for 
management review.
Agile Practices:
- Integrate agile methodologies into team processes and project management.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align Unix operations with organizational goals.
