Key Responsibilities
  • Establish budget and spending thresholds to control costs and ensure efficient use of cloud resources.
  • Design and implement a system to monitor cloud spend and identify areas where costs can be reduced.
  • Build Cloud Services budget and track actual and forecast costs, interfacing with Finance where appropriate.
  • Accelerate business value realization on new services / demand cases, by providing recommendations regarding Cloud costs and benefits and analyzing financial metrics.
  • Advise on how to allocate Cloud service costs to the respective BUs, including ownership and accountability.
  • Coordinate across the organization to create internal charging structures for all BUs, while communicating clearly about the operating model in the Public Cloud.
  • Define Cloud costs standards and guidelines to improve Cloud service utilization, achieve cost optimization and reduce Cloud TCO.
  • Validate vendor billing and invoicing and consumer chargeback.
  • Manage relationship with vendor, assessing support performance and opportunities for partnership improvement.
  • Ensure automation of billing reports, providing dashboards and insights on billing.
  • Connect with business and IT leaders across the organization to review Cloud spending and identify areas for continuous cost improvement.
  • Continuously identify cost saving opportunities
  • Certifications: FinOps Certified Practitioner, Professional Cloud DevOps

Required Experience:

  • 5+ years of substantial experience in cloud cost management and optimization, with a proven track record of implementing FinOps frameworks within organizations.
  • Hands-on experience with cloud cost analysis and reporting tools (e.g., AWS Cost Explorer, Azure Cost Management + Billing, GCP Billing, third-party FinOps platforms).
  • Deep understanding of cloud pricing models (on-demand, reserved, spot, sustained use discounts) across different cloud providers.
  • Experience with cost allocation and chargeback models, budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis in a cloud environment.
  • Experience with vendor management, contract negotiation, and ensuring accurate billing from cloud providers.
  • Experience automating billing processes, creating reports, dashboards, and alerts to monitor cloud spending.
  • Proven ability to build business cases and perform cost-benefit analyses for cloud initiatives.
  • Solid understanding of cloud infrastructure and services (compute, storage, networking, databases).
  • Familiarity with cloud monitoring and logging tools and DevOps practices.
  • Strong communication, stakeholder management, and presentation skills, with the ability to explain complex financial concepts to non-technical audiences.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving skills, and financial acumen.
  • Experience establishing budgets, designing cost monitoring systems, and developing internal charging structures for business units.
