Job Purpose:
As a Cloud Networks Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and optimizing our cloud network infrastructure across multiple cloud platforms, including OCI and GCP. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to support cloud migrations, troubleshoot network issues, and contribute to the continuous improvement of our cloud networking strategies.
Key responsibilities:
• Design and implement cloud network architectures that align with best practices and meet business requirements for scalability, security, and performance.
• Implement and maintain network security measures, including Virtual Private Clouds (VPCs), Network Security Groups (NSGs), and Firewalls, to protect cloud resources from cyber threats.
• Set up and manage load balancing and traffic routing mechanisms to ensure high availability and optimal performance of cloud-based applications.
• Configure and optimize cloud networking protocols, such as VPNs, BGP, and DNS, to support seamless communication between cloud resources.
Core Responsibilities:
• Monitor cloud network performance, identify and resolve network issues, and perform root cause analysis to maintain reliable and efficient cloud operations.
• Implement network automation and orchestration using Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) tools to streamline network provisioning and management.
• Work closely with cloud architects, DevSecOps engineers, and application developers to ensure smooth integration of cloud networking solutions.
• Contribute to the development and implementation of cloud network-related disaster recovery and business continuity plans.
• Collaborate with the information security team to enforce security standards, implement security controls, and adhere to regulatory requirements.
• Maintain detailed documentation of cloud network configurations, diagrams, and standard operating procedures.
Experience & Skills Required:
• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in cloud network engineering and administration, with a focus on OCI and GCP
• Experience with Agile delivery and ways of working.
• Proficiency in designing and managing network infrastructure on cloud platforms like OCI, AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Strong understanding of cloud networking concepts, VPCs, subnets, and routing.
• Familiarity with cloud security principles, identity and access management, and encryption.
• Experience with scripting languages (e.g., Python, PowerShell) and infrastructure automation tools (e.g., Terraform, CloudFormation).
• Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze and resolve complex cloud network issues.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills to work collaboratively with team members and stakeholders.
• A strong desire to expand knowledge and skills in cloud networking and stay up-to-date with cloud industry trends.
• Familiarity with SAMA Frameworks, PCI DSS and RTGS are a plus
Qualifications:
• University Degree [ideally in Computer Science or Technology related domain] • Relevant cloud certifications such as AWS Certified Advanced Networking, Azure Networking, or Google Cloud Network Engineer are a plus
