We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Sr. Cloud Operations Engineer/Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) to ensure the reliability, scalability, security, and performance of our Google Cloud Platform (GCP) infrastructure.

The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of GCP services, a strong background in site reliability engineering principles, and a passion for mentoring and developing junior team members. This role requires a proactive approach to problem-solving, a commitment to continuous improvement, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

Required Experience:

• Extensive GCP Experience: 5+ years of hands-on experience designing, implementing, and managing solutions on Google Cloud Platform (GCP). This should include experience with core services such as Compute Engine, Cloud Storage, Cloud SQL, VPC, Cloud Load Balancing, Cloud DNS, and IAM.
• Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) Principles: Demonstrated understanding and practical application of SRE principles, including monitoring, alerting, incident management, postmortem analysis, automation, and toil reduction.
• Monitoring and Performance Management: Proven ability to design, implement, and maintain comprehensive monitoring and alerting systems for GCP services. Experience with monitoring tools such as Cloud Monitoring, Prometheus, Grafana, or similar is essential.
• Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Proficiency in using IaC tools such as Terraform or Deployment Manager to automate infrastructure provisioning and management.
• Scripting and Automation: Strong scripting skills in languages such as Python, Bash, or Go for automating operational tasks and improving efficiency.
• Cost Optimization: Experience implementing cost optimization strategies in GCP, including rightsizing, reserved instances, spot instances, and auto scaling. Understanding of FinOps principles and practices is highly desirable.
• Incident Management: Experience participating in incident response and resolution processes, including root cause analysis and postmortem reviews.
• Networking Fundamentals: Solid understanding of networking concepts, including TCP/IP, DNS, routing, firewalls, and VPNs.
• Mentoring and Leadership: Demonstrated ability to mentor and guide junior engineers and operators.
• Collaboration and Communication: Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• FinOps Experience: Experience with supporting FinOps planning, budgeting, and forecasting for cloud environments.

• Google Cloud Professional Networking Engineer
