Our Client:

Our client, a leading fashion and retail brand in KSA are a seeking a Buyer to join their team in Jeddah, KSA.

The Buyer will be responsible for developing and executing strategic buying plans for the assigned category, ensuring a smooth procurement process that is efficient, cost-effective, and in alignment with company standards to achieve both strategic and financial goals.

In this role, the Buyer will play a key part in curating collections for our client's home brands, ensuring our product offerings are relevant, on-budget, and meet customer demand.

The ideal candidate will have a strong passion for fashion, a keen eye for emerging trends, excellent vendor relationships, and strong analytical skills to assess market trends and sales performance. This role encompasses overseeing the selection, negotiation, and purchasing of products for both our retail outlets and online platform.

Your Responsibilities:

Strategic buying and stock management:

  • Determine buying requirements and formulate a strategy, based on seasonal deep dive analysis and competition analysis

  • Align buying plan of assigned department to overall growth plan, ensuring our offerings are on trend, meeting budget requirements and customer demand.

  • Coordinate with the planning teams to ensure products are delivered on time and signed off  budget KPI such as Buy value, Qty, Cost and margin.

  • Ensure week cover target are met, reducing excess inventory and minimizing out-of-stock situations

  • Provide input into the seasonal buying strategies and assist in setting pricing strategies based on market insights.

Range building:

  • Work closely with the design team to build a well-balanced product range that aligns with market demand and brand identity.

  • Provide input for the range building based on internal analysis of best- and worst-selling products, competitor activity, and market opportunities to ensure the range meets customer expectations and drives sales.

Vendor management:

  • Negotiate prices based on open costings, terms, and delivery schedules to secure favorable contracts.

  • Build and maintain strong vendor relationships

Visual merchandise and in store display:

  • Ensure range is build based on instore capacity (model stores)

  • Work closely with the merchandising, marketing, and visual teams to ensure product assortment aligns with marketing campaigns and in-store displays and price call outs

KPIs: (split by Numbers, Process):

  • Sales, Intake margin, Sell through,

  • Maintain minimum week cover for Basics, Top Picks, Fashion

  • Meet aging stock target

Process:

  • On-Time Delivery adherence of 95%

  • Meet OTB budget requirements of 100% in Cost, qty and Retail Buy value

  • Work 100% on open costing

  • Build a credible Basic and Seasonal basic range and ensure availability

Your Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, supply chain management, logistics, or a related field is often preferred.

  • At least two years of experience in procurement, purchasing, or supply chain management.

  • Strong negotiation and communication skills

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities

  • Knowledge of supply chain management principles

  • Proficiency in procurement software and tools

  • Experience in contract management and negotiation

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively

  • Strong leadership and team management skills
